Citizens’ Outlook Barometer
The Citizens’ Outlook Barometer (Continu Onderzoek Burgerperspectieven, COB) is one of the main surveys of SCP, the Netherlands Institute for Social Research. Each trimester COB offers a comprehensive report on the developments in opinions among Dutch citizens on matters such as financial and social situations and trust in politics and government. In 2019 COB has existed 10 years, which gave reason for an evaluation by an independent assessment committee.
On request of the committee I conducted an extensive Contextual Response Analysis for the trimester reports. The reports appear to gain reputation among prominent journalists, and the audience in societal response differs slightly from those of other SCP reports.
